Because the XSi/450D offers two basic approaches to setting white balance, you may find that you use different approaches in different shooting scenarios. Following are examples for using the different approaches:
♦ Using preset white balance settings. For outdoor shooting, especially during clearly defined lighting situations such as bright daylight, an overcast sky, or shooting indoors in fluorescent or tungsten light, the preset white balance settings perform nicely. In general, the preset white balance settings have good color and hue accuracy and good saturation. However, watch the image histograms for oversaturation in any of the color channels particularly when using the Standard Picture Style. You may want to change the parameters of the Picture Style or use another Picture Style (Picture Styles are detailed later in this chapter.)
